The Getting Ready for Energy-Efficient Networking (green) WG will hold a virtual interim meeting on 2024-12-18 from 14:00 to 16:00 Europe/London (14:00 to 16:00 UTC).
Agenda: Full agenda will be sent to the list. Scope for the interim meeting: The WG currently has one individual draft under consideration for discussing requirements and use cases: draft-stephan-green-ucs-and-reqs. There was also a desire expressed that the WG spend a bit more time focusing on the requirements/use-cases before plowing full speed ahead on solutions. The chairs agree that alignment on the use-cases that we are solving, and more detailed requirements, is helpful to ensure that we have agreement and a common understanding of the solution that the WG is specifying. But we also would like to note that we also have a reasonably narrow initial focus for the WG in the WG charter, and hence think that discussions on base terminology, metrics and solutions can reasonably continue in parallel and be subsequently refined as appropriate. Hence, the first virtual meeting with be dedicated to discussing requirements and use cases, either those in draft-stephan-green-ucs-and-reqs, or other submissions. In addition, that draft lists some open issues in section 9 that likely be worthy or review and discussion.
