And there are some places where, frankly, trying to display 
internationalized characters is a non-starter. Some things in the world 
still use ASCII displays or ASCII serial interfaces, including router 
consoles. I'd still prefer to be able to type in some equivalency string 
for a domain name and be able to do traces.
