A recent slap given by Apache to Sun
<http://www.apache.org/jcp/sunopenletter.html>
implies that the Java Community Process has very open requirements on
patent licences granted via the Java Specification Participation
Agreement. The ASF thought a lot about patent licensing to produce the
Apache Licence 2.0 - most other patent-aware open source licences are
sponsored by businesses rather than non-profit foundations.
