Modern English spellings, please?  If these are the words
I think they are, they are loan words that became
part of English long ago.  Retaining the spellings
they had in the languages they were borrowed from
provides no value, and seems like an affectation.
Or should we start spelling "Hotel" with accent
circonflexe, and revive the English letters thorn
and eth while we're at it?
