You guys are 100% correct, and I understand why it doesn't work, just thought
the server might have a way to do that. So I am doing the alternative and
running a client and server on the same box. the server is installed in
/usr/local and the client in /usr/local/simias-client. Everything is installed
and happy however I have one problem.
When I run ifolder and try to connect to the server that is also on this
machine I get this error.

First try:
Msg Error: ConnectFailure
 Stack at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.EndGetRequestStream (IAsyncResult
asyncResult) [0x00000]
  at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetRequestStream () [0x00000]
  at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke (System.String
method_name, System.Object[] parameters) [0x00000]

Every try since:

Msg An exception was thrown by the type initializer for
System.Net.ServicePointManager
 Stack at
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReceiveResponse
(System.Net.WebResponse response,
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapClientMessage message,
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapExtension[] extensions) [0x00000]
  at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke (System.String
method_name, System.Object[] parameters) [0x00000]
  at SimiasWebService.ConnectToDomain (System.String UserName, System.String
Password, System.String Host) [0x00000]
  at (wrapper remoting-invoke-with-check) SimiasWebService:ConnectToDomain
(string,string,string)
  at Novell.iFolder.Controller.DomainController.AddDomain (System.String host,
System.String username, System.String password, Boolean bSavePassword, Boolean
bSetAsDefault) [0x00000]

I am still able to connect to the ifolder server with my other clients.
I have tried telling the client on the server the main ip,localhost, 127 etc
and it just refuses to connect to it.

any thoughts? Is this a bug or am I goofy.
