Newer versions of kernel and applications, easier installation and
administration (RPM 4.0, newer glibc ...) -- those are the usual
improvements between distro releases. Using a newer version of the
distro is a good idea, though if you're going for the 7.x series, you
better get the newer RedHat 7.1.
