1) BIU meetings have been announced several times. Each time the
announcement was followed by a cancellation, reasons unspecified,
   IIRC. Did I miss anything?

2) It seems that the main logistical problems are

   a) facilities,
   b) speakers.

I don't know which problem caused the cancellations of BIU meetings
   in the past.

I don't know I'll stick my neck out to guess that if a speaker is
available and if there is someone who can get a venue with a
projector, a board, and some chairs (like Alex or Ira, both of whom
did it so many times to great satisfaction and appreciation of all
the participants), and an announcement is made on the mailing list
and on the web site, there will be a decent audience. At least that
was always the case in the past - I don't recall a meeting that was
   a failure in this respect.

3) The people who are subscribed to Moshe's mailing list learned about
Andrea's accomplishments in 2.4.10 from a recent mailing. Not being
and expert, I'd love to have him here.

4) The last several meetings (unless I did miss a BIU one) were at
Compaq. Alex, what is it about (at)icomverse? Weren't you at
Compaq? Aren't you at HP? ;-) In any case, is it possible to
organize a meeting at whatever company you work at? That would
solve problem 2a. At the moment, it does not seem that anyone else
at IGLU can handle the logistics. Personally, I have no access to
venue or facilities for the noble purpose, much as I would like to
help out. I can only promise my attendance, barring unusual
   circumstances.

Is Andrea going to visit Israel any time soon? That would be a
wonderful opportunity for IGLU, and will solve problem 2b. If he
has no independent plans to visit Israel, I don't see how we can
sponsor a dedicated trip from Italy to here.

5) If one way or another the logistics are solved, announcing should
be simple enough (and handled by just about anyone on the list),
and there will likely be a lot of interest.
