Hi Sid Sorry saw your first mail later. Using Tcl/Tk would also allow you to use the write command using exec. (I am a big fan of the write command when I often used it 5-6 years back to chat on LAN with friends, Its simple and elegant!). Its easy to write simple C programs with sockets of your own and control them to Tcl/Tk. It has its own sockets of course which you can directly use. The time for making it will be faster with Tcl/Tk since its relatively easy to use. :) Regards Gajendra
