When I run nslookup, I get the IP address of www.iitd.ac.in as 220.227.156.20. If you open http://220.227.156.20 and it works, that means there is some proble with resolving the IP address (BTW, from within IIT, the URI is different). >From the message you attached, I see there is only one DNS server listed in /etc/resolv.conf when it should be two.
