exactly

take a live cd of ubuntu...make sure it is error free....incase there are
errors try cleaning it with a soft cloth or use a usb stick and then boot
from it

next u need to chroot into the partition u have kept ur ubuuntu

i cant tell u the exact commands as i am not using ubuntu ...u can copy
paste the above line on google browser

next u need to overwrite ur mbr by reinstalling grub

for my distro i do this

for ubuntu u can search for a tutorial or something on ubuntu forums....
