I assume this is your camera... It look so.. I searched on net and found HP1503 also contains same camera. http://www.complife.com.au/?p=331 , What you can do it, Boot your system and notedown the output of lsusb and plug the camera and then notedown lsusb, The extra entry is for your webcam. Just boot your system with LiveCD of 10.04 ., 10.10 , fedora 14, try plugging webcam on it. tryout cheese and look if it work.
