Its trolls after all who need the most coercion to go and troll a non
FOSS list ;-)
Seriously, trolling is accepted behavior within limits. Banning every
("seems-to-be") troll, is counter productive. Not everybody can form
the right phrases in questions. A few misunderstandings might result
in (wrongfully) banning.

Such people would have been demotivated long ago by the
"un"friendliness of the *nix environment.
And a few trolls really shouldn't matter to someone who is willing to
experiment.

I strongly agree with this.

The aim is to be a "society/community" driven association. Banning
people, is like opposing brutal capitalism, but falling into the
darkness of dictatorships.

There are other lists, especially severely unmoderated ones (OpenCV
for eg), on which Though, some of the members even criticize, (without
replying) whenever a question/subject is meaningless, all the members
without any exception ignore all spammers and trolls (ee the "society"
drivenness), and I believe we are mature enough to know who-is-who on
this list, maybe one or two mistakes, by every member but definitely
not more. And even on the Gimp-src, there are no replies ever to
"Flame mails".
