Hi, I use Asus PCE-N13 Wireless PCI-Express Adapter for my desktop machine. It is based on RaLink RT2860 chipset and works Out-of-box on Ubuntu. no driver or extra config needed. Its available on Ebay[1] for Rs.1290/-
If you need USB based wifi, then get Asus USB-N13[2], supports Linux/ Windows/Mac. Not sure about the price but should be priced the same as PCI-E version. Linux Hardware support has improved and now its to a level its no longer a issue. almost all new hardware is supported these days, Regards, Gaurish Sharma [1] http://cgi.ebay.in/130521506952 [2] http://www.asus.com/Networks/WiFi_Networking/USBN13/ -- LUG@IITD - http://lug-iitd.org/Footer
