That's good. That software can be web based app also.
One idea is that "we can allow image also inside the viewable area. We can create a javascript library for this. We should have support for Mobile Support (Android, etc.) by default. There should also be a fall back for sound in case there is not HTML5 on browser. Overall, I see a potential in this. One more suggestion is that, you should open up the project to higher levels not limited to education only. This project has greater reaches.
