Subject: [fosscomm] Aadhaar APIs in .net, yet claim to be supported in
Linux?
To: [email protected]

Hi,

I came across this piece of information on
http://www.medianama.com/2011/06/223-aadhaar-transliteration/
========
Aadhaar has APIs for Biometric Capture devices, ABIS (Automated Biometric
Identification System) for backend and for Aadhaar Authentication. It
supports .NET and Java to for development on Windows and Linux platforms.

Not sure how authentic it is. I didnt find any such info on their official
site.

However its definite that it is in .net.

The question is..... how did such a gigantic project of GOI undertaking
poise for a vendor locked in proprietary solution instead of FOSS????

I also had heard that Kerela had completely rejected it, and had forced them
to provide it on Open Platform. Anybody here who got updates on it?

Regards
