But I really do not think it will cache youtube video. I guess most of the traffic will come from video format. YOu need to know what is the traffic. May you can take help of Wireshark or similar tools. There must be similar effort in other Universities that you can search. YOu can also setup a http server where you can host Linux ISO and many other things. Also, Windows Virus create lots of noise on network.
