yeah, and just adding to what Satyakaam sir said, after 2.6.31 usb 3.0 support was added up, you can also check from you system configuration file in /boot you may find macros like CONFIG_USB_ARCH_HAS_XHCI i.e. extensible host controller interface is enabled or not. AFAIK, this is thought to be responsible for the superspeed of USB..
