GNU is not license GPL is license. GNU is Project which has license
GPL ( General Public License) and LGPL (lesser GPL).
GPL-> Software should be free and open source. you can modify codes and
create other application using codes but your new application should also
have GPL licence it cannot have other license.
LGPL-> used mainly for software libraries is less strict as GPL you can use
these libraries for creating your non-free software also.
BSD-> Free and open source..Do what ever you want to do there is no
restrictions use free bsd code to create non free application.
