maaf, sama sekali tidak benar bahwa kolam koi mutlak memerlukan zeolite. Zeolite hanya dibutuhkan apabila filtrasi biologis kita tidak memadai. Kolam koi yang bagus seharusnya tidak memerlukan zeolite. pemakaian zeolite boleh dibilang semacam "shortcut" untuk memelihara koi. masalahnya, zeolite tiap 4 bulan harus diganti baru karena sudah "penuh." dan membersihkan filter yg memakai zeolite juga merepotkan krn batunya harus diangkat. daripada menggunakan filtrasi kimia (spt zeolite) sebaiknya konsen dgn filtrasi biologis spt japanese mat, bacteria house. Memang lebih mahal, tetapi jauh lebih baik untuk kualitas air dan penguraian ammonia-nitrite/nitrate. BioBall juga bisa, tapi kalau filternya jenis terpendam, kurang effektif memakai bioball. bioball cocok utk trickle tower (filter atas). mendewasakan filter biologis memerlukan waktu panjang, meskipun bisa diperpendek dengan cara seeding. untuk mengatasi kendala ini, satu2nya cara ya jangan pelihara banyak ikan dulu. kalau filter sudah dewasa, pelan2 ditambah ikannya.
