I have recently (revision 1669 today) implemented an experimental feature that allows you to uninstall any library that's loaded into ikarus by doing (uninstall-library '(library no longer with us)). The implementation has some limitations that I will address soon (it does not work perfectly when reloading precompiled libraries), but apart from that, it should be working, allowing you to remove libraries that you type at the repl and then redefine them as you please.
