Has anyone ever done analysis on SRFI implementation performance and

Not that I know of.
The SRFI-1 reference implementation seems to have as a design goal
decent behaviour even on unsophisicated Scheme systems. This is respectable.
What *would* be interesting is an implementation designed for advanced
compilers. I.e. written in an idiomatic fasion and fast as hell.
Then you could toss that and a test suite at Scheme systems you're
evaluating. It would be sort of a "you must be this tall to ride this
ride" sorta thing. :-)
It's great that we finally have a free compiler of the quality that
Ikarus brings. It really raises the bar.
