Just as a side note to the discussion taking place aobut the operation of
and who has control of Tolono. In the wee hours one morning I was
returning from Chicago on 317. We were just through Melvin on the Gilman
Dist. of the IC and could see that we didn't have the lineup at Gibson
City. We keyed up the IC dispatcher, who told us he didn't know if our
(NS) dispatcher was ready for us as he would not answer the phone. He
asked us to go to our channel and try to raise him and tell him the IC
wanted to talk to him. We couldn't get our ds to answer us either, and
after trying several times, gave up and went back to the IC channel. We
called the IC ds who answered and said thanks for trying, but he had just
taken Tolono away from the NS ds, and he would be calling soon. No sooner
had he said that, he said, "oh, there's the hot line to decatur, I guess he
wants to talk now."
