THIS IS A VERY PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY TO GAGE INTEREST

The Indiana Railway Museum in French Lick, in conjunction with its common
carrier subsidiary Dubois County Railroad, is looking at the possibility of
hosting a rare mileage excursion in late 2000 (likely November). In order to
sell the idea to the Board of Directors, IRM is needing to determine what
level of interest there is.

The route is the former Southern branch line from French Lick, Indiana, to
Huntingburg, Indiana. This line is approximately 35 miles in length one-way.
Indiana Railway Museum operates excursions on the northern most 10 miles of
the branch from French Lick to Cuzco, with Dubois County Railroad operating
freight service on the entire line. The line south of Cuzco has not seen
regular passenger service since the 1930's, save for one excursion between
Jasper and Huntingburg in the late 70's/early 80's. Equipment would be first
generation Alco with IRM coaches.

French Lick is approximately 1.5 hours west of Louisville and 2 hours south
of Indianapolis. There are also several hotels in the French Lick, Jasper,
and Huntingburg area. For those interested in one-way only mileage, there
are several locations at Huntingburg to stage cars (automobiles).

Again, this is only to gage interest. My contact IRM believes that the trip
is a very firm possibility, they just need to see if there is interest.

Please reply privately if you are interested.

Thanks
Chris Dees
