Group, The North Western Illinois Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society will be holding their November meeting this coming Saturday night the 27th in Rockford, IL. We meet at St. Mark's Lutheran Church at 675 N. Mulford Road, about a 1/2 mile north of East State St (Business 20). Our meeting will feature slide shows from a couple of longtime NWI members. Tom Post will be presenting the main attraction, CONRAIL--BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER. As the title implies, it will feature the various Conrail components like the Erie Lackawanna and Penn Central along with "Big Blue" through the years and some views since its split into CSX and NS. Mike Schafer will be presenting a short "Know Your Illinois" slide show quiz too. The doors open at 7:00 p.m., the short business meeting begins at 7:30 and the slide shows will follow. There is no admission charge and visitors and new members are always welcome.
