Hi,

Requesting all to volunteer and try at least once.

This is to enable consumers (us) to make informed choices,
and will also push service providers to accept the quality
complaints of their broadband services and make them work
on improving it to the consumers benefit.

Spread the message.

with Regards,
ASHWIN

AT-Tester for testing the quality of your broadband connection
    --------------------------------------------------------------

The AT-Tester allows you to rigourously test the quality of service
experience provided by your broadband connection. When you upload the
test results to the broadbandasia.info website, you are contributing
to a growing database that enables us to generate public reports on
the quality provided by different service providers. This will help
consumers make informed choices, and will induce service providers to
improve the quality of their broadband service.

The AT-Tester software is developed only for Windows-XP operating
system. The AT-Tester will use approx 10MB of the bandwidth usage for
each test.

To participate in this consumer-driven movement, follow the easy steps
below:

1. Install:
   (a) Download Setup.zip file from http://broadbandasia.info
   (b) Unzip the downloaded file and execute the Setup file for
installing. Also there is a README.doc file for reference.

2. Register:
   (a) Setup will place an icon "AT-Tester" on the desktop. Click on
it to open the AT-Tester main window.
   (b) Click on 'Register' button and select the appropriate values to
       register with the server.

3. To make sure that the installation is successful, run one test
   manually:
   (a) Select Testing type "All" and click on "Run Test". The test
       should complete in 5-15 mins.
   (b) Click on "Result" to view the test results

4. To run the full suite of tests on automatically:
   (a) before 8 a.m. setup the Scheduler: Use Scheduler button, select
the 6 time: 8 AM, 11 AM, 3 PM, 6 PM, 8 PM and 11 PM and save it.
The tests will run automatically at the specified times.
   (b) Click on 'Result' button to view the test results.
   (c) After all 6 tests are complete, click on 'Send Result' button
for updating the test results in the server. Your test results
will now be used for generating the reports in the
       broadbandasia.info site!

5. Please run the test suite on at least two weekdays (by following
step 4 on each day). You may also run the test on weekends and
holidays. This will give a comprehensive picture of the quality of
service provided by your broadband service provider.

If you wish to run the tests manually, at the designated times, select
the testing type 'All' and click on 'Run Test'. Each test will take
approximately 15 mins.

If you use the Scheduler for executing the tests automatically then
make sure that the PC and ADSL modem are left on from morning 7:50 AM
to night 11:30 PM. In any case, no other network activity (browser,
downloads, etc) should be running during the 15-min test executions.

If you use Scheduler option then a pop-up dialog comes before each
test. If you dont want this pop-up message to come then use
alternative version of this software for "no confirm dialog". This can
be downloaded from the following link:
