Well, your entire mass of argument has put all the blame of not being
active over one simple rule of asking you to mail in plain text. This is
like making excuse of being inactive all along on just being asked to
mail in plain text. And I for one has no belief that everything is going
to change immediately or considerably once HTML posts are allowed.
Rather people will start sending mails with all kinds of lame
formatting, especially some eye soring colors.

Secondly, changing your options to send mails as plain text is not too
hard to implement. It's a simple check box option in most mail clients,
even the web based ones. Am unable to understand why you feel that not
being able to send HTML rights is as bad as your fundamental right being
withheld?

I have 4 email accounts exclusively for different categories of mailing
lists and I am afraid not even one among the numerous mailing list am
subscribed to has an exception for HTML mails. Actually a few lists are
very strict on the "plain text only" rule. And I personally do not
prefer lists which allows HTML posts, as I have seen the dark side of it.

"""An HTML extension scrubber like ironport would serve everyone well."""

Why should one install some extension when all he is interested in plain
text?
