What are your other plans in education sector?

Microsoft IT academies have been set-up in 10 states—Maharashtra,
Uttaranchal, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh,
Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. We will continue with
these states and continue with others for possible areas of cooperation.

We are building proof of concept, successfully implementing it and then
handing it over to the government for large scale training. Besides,
there are initiatives aimed at motivating teachers through Innovative
Teacher Leadership Award, enabling them to go back to school and build
curriculum. Overall we have a database of 16,000 case studies which has
been published on indiashiksha.com portal.

Microsoft is also partnering with state governments and the Ministry of
HRD for designing IT curriculum for class six till 10th to ensure that
schools adopt right curriculum. Besides, the company is involved in
identifying economic reasons for dropouts in schools and creating better
areas of employment through digital literacy curriculum.

We are providing basic IT education free of cost to schools, colleges
and CSC. We are providing self paced training course to rural students
which offer examination and certificate from Microsoft and the concerned
state government thereby increasing the chance of employability.
