Somewhat OT for this list. IIM Calcutta is conducting a 2-Day Management
Development Programme "Free and Open Source Tools for SMEs and the
Public Sector"

Programme Summary

Financial barriers constrain small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to use
pirated copies of commercial software for office, productivity and
analytical applications. Free and/or open source software (F/OSS)
provide an alternative route to efficiency and cost reduction without
legal concerns. Much of the same logic applies to public sector
organizations, which can benefit greatly from the freedom to change
software according to need and not being locked to particular
technology/service vendors.

Programme Duration: 2 Days - 13/08/2009 – 14/08/2009

Target Audience

Owners and technology managers of SMEs
Systems Analysts and Technology Officers of public enterprises.

Venue

Tata Hall
Indian Institute of Management Calcutta
Joka, Diamond Harbour Road
Kolkata 700104

lodging and tea/coffee during the programme. Participants are requested
to bring their own laptops.

in Kolkata. The DD/Ch. should be made in favour of “Indian Institute of
