Hello Fred and Tathagata

excellent tips/suggestion

> > * List LUG speakers, subjects they can speak
on *

we already have many gurus here .. would they
please
respond .. with subjects dear to their hearts ..
makes
it easy to speak on those !

action needed .. volunteers ? .. we can pan this
out
for coming 12 months .. with a speaker a month ..
at
every meet of ilug-cal .. a duration of say 15 to
30 min
only .. with a q & a session of 15 minutes on that
speech

> > List where GNU/Linux CDs are borrowable
nearby *

we already HAVE a floating library .. some one
member
who is willing, could become the temp librarian
till a
more permanent solution is found .. i believe
tathagata
has a mini library of several distros .. and would
be ok
for now .. tathagata, that ok ?

> > Launch a website *

already happening

> > Mailing-lists keep links alive between meets *

this is being overdone .. no more action required
.. rather a little restriction may help .. short,
pointed,
with the 'ignored' subject line being changed to
reflect the contents .. may be the way to go

> > List LUG members, full contact details *

this is on the proposed web site already .. done !

> > Get new LUG members to introduce themselves
online *

even old ones can post some resume's on
the website .. i never knew raja guha's loong
voyage .. now i do ! .. yet i don't know much
abt the rest (rajesh excluded .. i know abt him
;-D)

> > Expand numbers; it's important *

this is an action area .. schools, colleges,
corporates,
govt depts, any other organisations too (puja
pandals .. naw .....)

> > Report  regularly on LUG meets;
> > builds bridges among those not present *

sdg has done a very good job .. minute man
no further action needed on this.

> > Plan LUG  meets in advance;
fixed agendas draw more people *

this i agree fully .. so what's the tentative
agenda for the next meet ? and please
do add an 'other items' in that agenda.

> > Build more mini-LUGs, to
> > uncover hidden talent in areas around your
LUG.

this is probably a 5 year plan .. whatwith
native places figuring for the bangla in linux
.. and other places too .. cud be done ..
but will take time .. lots of time .. and a lot
of time too ! maybe later ..

..pk
