Hi,

The Microsoft's prime web real-estate MSN is serving a different cascading
style sheet (CSS) to users of the Opera 7 web browser. This isn't something
that is wrong in itself, except for the fact that it is making the Opera
browser look broken.

Opera Software (), the Norway based company behind the Opera web-browser has
accuses MSFT of "deliberately engineering the MSN home page in order to make
it look as if the Opera browser has a serious flaw in it". Opera Software
has also released the results of its investigation which claims to prove
this.

For the complete story as published in The Register --

Incidentally, MSFT & MSN has a history of trying to stop people from using
Opera web-browser (see http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/22441.html) &

The investigation report published by Opera Software ("Why doesn't MSN work
with Opera?" -- http://deb.opera.com/howcome/2003/2/msn/) said "First, for
the user it looks like Opera7 has a serious flaw so that many lines are
partially hidden. Second, the page shows less content than users of
Microsoft's Internet Explorer (MSIE) see."

The above URL clearly mentions that while the older versions of opera did
not face such a problem, it is the newest version that is facing this
"discrimination".
