Hi friends,

Earlier today Dr Manas Laha had asked if it is possible for a person with a single
CD-ROM drive to free up the drive somehow when running AnkurBangla LiveCD.

The answer is YES, provided your system comes with 1 GB of RAM to begin with. You map
and run the LiveCD system entirely off the RAM. In process, it frees up your CD-R
drive, which you can now use to playing back Audio/Video CDs or accessing normal data
CD.

The trick is to type "Ankur_IN toram" or "Ankur_BD toram" (depending on your locale)
at the boot prompt. It will take a few minutes to map the contents of the CD to
memory. The system will boot normally after that and you can take the LiveCD out of
the drive.

On my 1GB PC27000 DDR RAM system, this is rock stable, right now a "Minority Report"
VCD is playing back over Totem from my CD-R drive, I am chatting with friends on Gaim
and typing this mail.... It just works! *grins*

cheers,
--indra
