I am not sure i have understand this part. Yes, FC2 is
not slower than FC1, but what was your base comparsion
for FC1. Anyway, i have expected FC2 to be faster than FC1,
haven't noticed any considerable speed difference
though. However, this just based on observation no
hard benchmarks yet.

Well "fast" seems to be a really subjective term you are using here. If you compare RH9/Fedora Core1/Core2 to distros like Slackware I can bet my last penny it will get beaten hands down in terms of speed and responsiveness. Even desktop oriented distros like Mandrake and SuSe are comparitively faster, but that is arguable. Dont get me wrong, I love the professional manner in which Fedora is delivered and I use it on a daily basis cuz it finally does happen to be the distro which works with the least hassles (mp3/divx/DVD support etc notwithstanding). But the Fedora community needs to seriously start considering distributing an i686 or at least i586 optimized distro. Packaging a distro in the 21st century, and optimizing it for i386s makes little sense, considering, the availability of powerful boxen! This has been my only gripe against the RHX and Fedora distros.
