I guess you have already been given three options! Phew..

VNC is available for several platforms (Windows/Linux). So you can 
connect to a variety of servers from a variety of clients. I've used it 
and it works fine. You get the keyboard, mouse and video.

FreeNX seems to be a way to access the X server remotely - and so does 
not work for Windows servers. I've not tried it, but it sure looks good.

TeamViewer appears to be a Windows-only utility. The link that was 
posted suggests 'wine' to run the Windows application on Linux.


If I were you, I'd try both VNC and FreeNX. VNC is most probably already 
available on your computer.
