My DVD writer (Samsung octoedge) doesn't identify DVDs (luckily it identifies CD and so i was able to install ubuntu 9.10). many of my friends with writers of different make like Azeus etc also face the same problem. Is there any way this problem can be rectified? Also in case replacement is the option, then is external DVD writer a better option?
