One month before, one of my friend came to my office with hard disk. he want to recover the data. I start the machine with Puppy Linux live. BIOS detects the hard disk. But HDD track is problem and making continuous sound 'tup tup tup'.after one time access, the files are vanished. Even though i recovered the data from HHD. He is very happy. He is working in leading corporate computer manufacture company.
for linux you can use 'SystemRescueCD' (224 MB iso cd-image) Hence, try with hope and get data as much you can.
