Hello.

I have a fedora webserver running here. I had to restart it to change the
UPS, and when I restarted, the GUI stopped working. It was asking for login
details in text mode. I logged in as root and typed 'gdm'. Then the
graphical login screen showed up. i logged in there too, but after that,
nothing happened. I could see the wall paper only, it wouldn't show the
windows or panels or anything.

It was up for a long time, I had not installed anything new. Right now I'm
using a couple of virtual terminals in text mode to run the servers, but it
would be nice to have the gui back.

Has something like this happened to anyone before?

Thanks for the help in advance
