This economic side of FOSS is still vague in many of our minds in this
mailing list including me.



We just saw sun being valued  for 6 Billion USD.  According to market cap
and revene data, I would say Redhat should be valued little less than Sun.
 Together Sun and Redhat are the two most important and successful FOSS
companies out in todays industry.

PS: I don't answer your question. But I guess these data are relevant.
