Hello, I have just sent a mail to NIC regarding the web sites created by them. Specifically, I pointed out:
a. Their web site still uses IIS which is known to have a vulnerabilities, some of which are passed on via browsers to users. For example, http://www.linuxjournal.com/content/why-are-you-not-running-apache-new-iis-holes-should-make-you-rething-your-web-server b. Their web sites are unfriendly to text-mode browsing which makes it difficult to index information on these sites in addition to the difficulties faced by those who can only use text-mode browsers. The NIC people create and maintain a large number of governmental web sites so getting them to switch to FOSS is IMHO really important. They have a "contact us" link on their web site at home.nic.in.
