Sorry for the top post.

Looks like you have a permission problem on the mailbox directory.

Do you have SELinux enabled? Do you use extended ACLs on your filesystem?

If you are not using both features, then try o+rx permission on the
full path that contains your mailboxes, eg. /, /home,
/home/example.com, /home/example.com/user.
