This isn't the first time, that has happened either. Customers get
significant benefits if they agree to become part of any such studies.
Some of them migrate to Linux partially and won't tell that publicly
because they would lose the benefits that the other vendor offers them.
 Others dont want to because it might invite legal trouble such as the
competition sending threatening letters about unspecific patents. Some
other customers don't want to because they consider their use of Linux
as a competitive advantage and don't want others in the industry to know
about it and adopt a similar strategy.

If you are curious, it is easy enough to search specific names in such
campaigns in your favourite search engine and to know the real facts.
