Oh, don't worry. This is a fairly common problem because of a Windows
bug that doesn't allow it to handle other operating systems. So long as
you have an Ubuntu Live CD, you can save yourself.

Also, why are you using dial-up? If you're in the city, DSL will be
cheaper.
