If system->preferences->monitors doesn't show the resolution expected,
then you can try the Nvidia drivers (properitory, but it's fine
atleast nouveau is fully functional.), if you haven't done it
already. Install Livna repository, and do

$ sudo yum install xorg-x11-drv-nvidia

This should fix your problem.
