Greetings, FStival is a Free Software Festival conducted annually, since 2004, by GNU/Linux User Group of Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai and GLUG-Madurai in commemoration of Software Freedom Day. The objective of FStival is to create awareness of Free Open Source Software (FOSS) among the general public of South Tamil Nadu. Over the years, FStival has been a venue where students of various age groups and domains, professionals (of both IT and non-IT fields), enthusiasts and the curious have come together to get introduced to FOSS, interact with each other and share their experiences. Every year, the participants bring in empty CD/DVDs to copy Free Software of their choice from the exhaustive repository at Thiagarajar College of Engineering (maintained by GLUGOT). We will have many stalls in which various Free Software tools are demonstrated.
This year we have planned to have talks as well, on Free Softwares and all are invited to give one :) This year FStival is celebrated on SFD - September 17, 2011 at Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. All are invited and welcome to be a part of FStival and celebrate freedom. More information can be found at - http://fstival.org and http://glugot.tce.edu. -- Thanks, M.
