Hello Folks, Just wanted to pass on some information about the formation of Chennai Game Industry Professionals ( ChennaiGIP ). The group is new and has around 50 members. This is a great chance to promote Linux & open source software, and to influence folks interested in game development to create and build games for Linux. There seems to be a fair bit of interest in using languages like python, libs like pygame, art tools like GIMP, Blender, and audio tools like Audacity, Ardour, Rosegarden, Hydrogen. The group plans on conducting intro-to-advanced level talks in all game development disciplines including design, art, sound, writing, programming, etc, design / programming / art / writing / sound challenges, game jams, etc.
