Today's session by FSFTN at CS-24, IIT-Madras covered Ubuntu installation and a portion of basic GNU/Linux concepts. Mr. Yashwant and Mr. Alagunambi Welkin handled these topics and a large section of the participants were from the industry. There were some college students too. My initial apprehension that there weren't enough number of technical experts to handle all the questions posed by the audience subsided very soon. This was not only because the volunteers answered the queries effectively but also due to the mutual interaction between the members present. There were notable instances where doubts were successfully clarified amongst the audience in this manner. It reflected the community spirit of GNU/Linux I also realized that the opportunities to explore this operating system were limitless. Mr. Yashwant and Mr. Welkin made this clear and encouraged us to think in a variety of ways. They also stressed on the fact that we could truly learn only when we explored and introduced us to interesting techniques to pave the way. I am eagerly looking forward to the next phase, next Sunday where we will delve deeper into the Introduction to Linux _______________________________________________ Mailinglist mailing list [email protected] http://fsftn.org/mailman/listinfo/mailinglist_fsftn.org _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
