hi, on behalf of ilugcbe Govind and I conducted a one day workshop at SREC on python and git. About 40 students attended, the workshop was hands on, and all the students were able to complete the assignments given to them.
lesson learned: git is too geeky to teach to students who are clueless about version control - subversion or mercurial is a better bet. observation: 10 years ago we had to beg and plead to be allowed to conduct a workshop in any college. We had to spend our own money and the managements used to ignore us. Nowadays we are greeted with flowers and garlands, the managements do their utmost to give us all the facilities, they pay expenses and even give an honorarium! This is my experience in the Coimbatore region and in Kerala. -- regards Kenneth Gonsalves _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
