Hi, Gmane is a awesome cool thing. It gives you cool view types. You can use the flat blog type interface with threads and then there is the frames and threads. Both the ways are cool in their own ways. Allows you to read more mail quickly than you can usually do with your regular mail client like gmail. I see that about 80 % of ilugc memebers are gmail users. But digging older mails is better done in gmail. But i dont think anybody will be interested in replying to a very old thread. So i tried posting from gmane and it works. But a few gotcha. You need to be subscribed to ilugc in order to post via gmane. If you are posting from gmane for the first time, it sends you a mail with instructions on how to subscribe to ilugc, which is crap for me. All you have to do is to reply to the mail. Just reply and doesn't require anything more in subject or body. It is a cryptic to email address and make sure you dont touch the to address. Once you reply you become authorised to post in gmane and gmane will post the reply to ilugc on your behalf and you should be able to see your mail in ilugc in 10 mins from authorisation. Note authorisation is one time thing and ofcourse you dont need to authorise everytime. Which would them defeat the very purpose of replying in gmane. One advantage of replying in gmane is gmane is good at handling mailing list mail than you filters in mail client. So off i go to set my mail as nomail option and read, reply from gmane.
