Hi All, I am running Linux Mint 13 on my laptop in which I have a collection of movies and TV series. My bro an iPhone 5 on which he likes to watch them and i watch them on my laptop. Currently I use iTunes on Windows (its a shame that i dual-boot for this alone) to transfer to iPhone. Since many of formats are unsupported on Iphone, I use Handbrake to convert to mp4 and then copy them over which is a tedious process.
One thing that I have in mind is to setup a local media Server that will host all this content and probably transcode + stream the content and access via wi-fi? http://alternativeto.net/software/plex/ - Options I have looked at are 1) Plex 2) XMBC 3) Subsonic But some of them do not have an iPhone app that can be installed freely. Tried Air Video, it works well in Windows though with limited features. Am looking for FOSS applications that work in Linux env to do the job ? Any ideas / prior usage experience, please share? Guidance will be much appreciated. -- Cheers, Anand Radhakrishnan When there is a drive, there is a path.
