>From my experience, hard drives are quite resilient. Most drives have
generally more data sectors compared to what is the advertised capacity of
the drive. If drives is showing corruption issue, hard drive has reached
maximum capacity to repair and allocate sectors from hidden pool. There are
few options left for you if there is critical data on the hard drive.

   - Refrigerate your drive. Zip lock your drive and put it in the freezer
   for a while. Connect back and back it up immediately. (Do it at your own
   peril)
   - If you are not adventurer, take it to data recovery people to recover
   it for you
