Sorry to hear that Amit, >From my experience, hard drives are quite resilient. Most drives have generally more data sectors compared to what is the advertised capacity of the drive. If drives is showing corruption issue, hard drive has reached maximum capacity to repair and allocate sectors from hidden pool. There are few options left for you if there is critical data on the hard drive.
- Refrigerate your drive. Zip lock your drive and put it in the freezer for a while. Connect back and back it up immediately. (Do it at your own peril) - If you are not adventurer, take it to data recovery people to recover it for you regards - On Mon, Feb 17, 2014 at 8:58 PM, AMIT SHARMA <[email protected]> wrote: > dear friends , > i have an two month fresh external HDD OF SEGATE OF 1tb i got an strange > error on windows > > Format this drive before using it > > i have plugged it fedora trying to mount it manuly but it fails by > saying that super block is corrupt ......... > i also run fsck but of no use > plz tell me some thing .i have critical data(some word documents) > in it > > > > > > -- > Thanks & Regards, > > Amit Sharma > Co- Founder Indian Linux Users Group Jammu(J&K) > +91-98580 69650 > www.ilugj.co.cc > _______________________________________________ > Ilugd mailing list > [email protected] > https://lists.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd > -- Supreet Sethi Ph US: +19173102635 Ph IN: +919811143517 Github: https://github.com/djinn Ph Skype: d_j_i_n_n Profile: http://www.google.com/profiles/supreet.sethi Twt: http://twitter.com/djinn _______________________________________________ Ilugd mailing list [email protected] https://lists.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd
