I am one of the developers of the CD you have recieved .please follow a 10 step guide to install LiFY on your system . Installation is a little tricky therefore it is advisable to install it with the help of an expert . please feel free for any kind of clearification on the subject


How to Install LiFY on Hard disk
=============================
.the CD that you have received is called LiFY . you can try out the CD without installing by putting it in CD-ROM and rebooting your system .
once You have booted LiFY . on the extreme left hand menu below you would see an icon K click on it and a menu would open up .click on LiFY .another menu would open up . after this click on the root shell a terminal would open up .
1 write 'lfy-hdinstall' on the terminal .
2 A warning message would be given click on the button 'OK' .
3 you would be asked to select your hard disk which would generally be hda and would be selected by default .lick on OK
4 you would be asked to choose a partition on which you would like to install LINUX . this is the most complex stage of Installation . you can create delete add or modify partition at this point . if you have never created a partition don't play with the hard disk as your data is at risk .
5 after you have chosen the partition use tab to come to quit and press enter .
6 you would be prompted for swap partition click yes .if you have less RAM ?
7 after this you would be asked to choose the root and swap partition choose the ones that you have made using cfdisk in step no 4 . a partition which is created should be more than 2200 MB ?
8 you would be given a warning that all the data in the partition would be lost . click yes ?
9 after this wait till the installation proceeds . it will take from 20 minutes to an hour to Install depending upon the speed of your computer ?
10 after the installation is complete it would ask for your ,root password ,network configuration, bootlader configuration.


if you have successfully followed all the steps you would get Linux Installed on your system .
